– Fox Wins Battle Over ‘Watchmen’ Adaptation - NYTimes.com
Hmm. $1.5M to “develop” the Watchmen- whatever that means- and multi-millions to litigate it. Reason #9,745 I am happy not to be a litigator.

– Law.com - Business Law Practice Center
This reminds me of a true story about my mother’s former employer. The company tried to fire someone and hit a roadblock because there were positive reviews in the employee’s personnel file. in-house counsel thenceforth decided that no more...

Yep. This is how I feel about billable time as well. No rewards for efficiency. #twit

– VeloNews | On the road: a Q&A with Taylor Phinney | The Journal of Competitive Cycling.
Good man- being totally candid about his lack of focus. Make a mistake, admit it, learn from it and move on is the best way to approach things, IMO.
As a report by Craig Moffett of Bernstein Research stated last year, “The notion...
– The Media Equation - Will Someone Please Invent iTunes for News? - NYTimes.com

Satyam Computer Services, Department of Irony
Satyam Computer Services admitted to massive accounting fraud this week.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/08/business/worldbusiness/08satyam.html?hp
I had never heard of this company before so normally I wouldn’t focus on this at all, but irony is another matter altogether. It turns out that Satyam means “truth” in Hindi (I think it’s Hindi). Good one.

Pro cycling and doping- nothing to see here
Here is a quote from Amaury Sports Organization’s guidelines to journalists on doping stories: “They must be content with the bare minimum, which is only to transmit the official announcements from the federations or anti-doping agencies without digging further.” http://boulderreport.bicycling.com/2009/01/speak-no-evil.html I’m heading off to the pharmacy now. Note that DRM-free means (I think) m4a format, which Tumblr doesn’t like. That’s the main reason I will stick with Amazon MP3.

– Paul Buchheit after an 8 month break in blogging.
I think the problem is that traditional platforms are too much for most people. They are confusing and odd in many ways. And they put this heavy expectation on the writer to come up with a long form post.
